Let's start with what's underneath your makeup:
1) Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer with Sunscreen (Sensitive): This moisturizer is non-greasy, and specially formulated for my sensitive, acne-prone skin. I wish that instead of SPF 15 it had SPF 30, but I'll take any SPF rather than none. I love that this lotion absorbs very quickly so I'm not delaying the rest of my routine waiting for it to dry.
2) Monistat Chafing Relief Powder-Gel: This product is worth its weight in gold! Not only can you use it as it was designed, helping to prevent chafing from that dreaded thigh rub, but you can also use it as a primer. Yep, a primer! This product is so versatile, it's a close dupe to primers such as Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. I was worried that since it wasn't designed for use on the face that it might clog my pores, but I've used it for years as a primer without any issue.
3) Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Primer Skin Transformer: If you want a silicone based primer that's actually made to be a primer (not so fast, Monistat), try this option from Maybelline. I've tried many primers but I always love using this one. Not only does it fill in pores and smooth lines, but this primer has a pink tint to it to give you a "youthful glow." It also does a great job at making my makeup last throughout the day.
Next, my favorite drugstore foundation products:
4) Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation: I can't say enough good things about this foundation! It provides buildable medium coverage, has SPF 18, and has light reflecting qualities that make my skin look radiant and perfect. With primer, this foundation lasts all day on my skin (I have combination skin). It applies so beautifully with a buffing brush or beauty blender.
5) Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser: This is a great concealer not only for under eye issues, but also for blemishes and imperfections. I'm pale enough that the brightening shade meant as a highlighter and under eye concealer is actually perfect as an all over concealer. It not only covers my dark circles, but it thoroughly covers my acne. However if you're not the palest shade, I would recommend getting the brightener just for areas you want to highlight, and then get your matching skin shade for your blemishes. I find this concealer covers flawlessly and blends easily. Also, it has skin-loving ingredients such as Goji Berry and Haloxyl. As you can see from the photo I'm almost empty and will definitely repurchase!
6) Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder in Translucent: This is probably no shocker, as it is one of the most beloved drugstore setting powders in the world. In fact, it's usually sold out when I go to buy it! This keeps my T-zone matte all day and sets my foundation very well.
Now for the frosting, as I like to call it:
7) Wet n Wild Coloricon Eyeshadow Collection in Comfort Zone: One of the highest quality eyeshadow palettes I own, as well as one of the most versatile. This palette comes with eight gorgeous colors that can be worn alone or combined to make incredible eyeshadow looks. The palette even helps you figure out how to use it by imprinting "Browbone," "Eyelid," "Crease," and "Definer," into each shade. It's such a great palette!
8) NYX Blush in Pinched: NYX Blush in any shade is fantastic, but I recommend this blush because I think it's universally flattering to any skin tone. My photo doesn't do this shade justice, it is so beautiful! NYX Blush is highly pigmented, so use a light touch and build it to suit your liking. This particular shade has a bit of shimmer in it but not an overwhelming amount, so don't be afraid!
9) eos Lip Balm: No matter how much or how little makeup you wear, your lips are going to need conditioning. I have so many lip balms, but I keep going back to eos. It's smooth, not too greasy, not too sticky, and tastes great. Not only do I wear it every day, but I keep one by my bed and put it on right before I go to sleep. Unlike other balms, I don't find that it transfers onto my sheets or pillows by the time I wake up, and my lips are nice and soft. My favorite is the Pomegranate Raspberry flavor.
10) NYX Butter Gloss: Hands down, my favorite lip gloss in the world. This is probably one of the best values you can get at the drugstore! There are so many shades to choose from, you will have no problem finding your favorite (or favorites!). Butter Gloss tastes good enough to eat, isn't sticky (one of my biggest pet peeves), has great pigmentation, and lasts a long time. If you love sweets and lip gloss, don't hesitate to pick up one of these gorgeous glosses!
These are my ten favorite products from the drugstore that I can't do without, but there are so many other brilliant products! I had a hard time choosing just ten. What are some of your favorites?
I agree about the Rimmel products. The translucent powder has replaced my MAC translucent powder I think it's that great! X
ReplyDeleteFor the money you can't beat the Rimmel line. Rarely do I find products I don't like!
