Hello lovlies! I got my second Influenster VoxBox recently (freebies, woo!), and I received a complimentary bottle of Curel's new Itch Defense Instant Soothing Moisturizing Spray, as well as a sample of the matching body wash to try for review. I was so excited to get this box because I've always been curious about the spray lotions but have never tried one before.
I had high hopes for this lotion, since as the seasons change from lava hot to Hoth cold, my skin gets dry and itchy in a snap. I hate how once the heat comes on in my house and in the office, the moisture of my skin gets sucked out and I feel like a flaky dry mess! I remember my dorm room in my freshman year of college was so hot (and we had no control over the thermostat) that my skin got so dry that it constantly felt like I was allergic to everything, the itchiness was so bad.
I wish I had this lotion back then! I took Influenster's four day challenge, where I used this for at least four days in a row, and I loved it! As the fall air started to settle in, my skin still felt soft and moisturized. Also, it didn't feel irritated at all. I found it to be most effective when applied after shaving, it really helped sooth my legs afterwards.
Applying the spray lotion definitely has a learning curve. I'm still not sure if I'm doing it right! I kept thinking about the spray lotion commercial where the girl jumps out of the shower and sprays a line on each leg and each arm and then jumps into her clothes and out the door in twenty seconds. In real life? Not so much like that. Less is more with this product, so I spray a short line on each leg and each arm, and then rub it in all over. It feels a bit thin and greasy at first, but I think that this is just the nature of the spray mechanism. It absorbs quickly, so the greasy feeling does not last.
I haven't tried the body wash yet, I'm not much of a body wash person. If it is as effective as the lotion though, I'm sure it's wonderful.
I'm very thankful to Influenster for including me on this VoxBox. All my opinions are my own in regards to these complimentary products.
